Hi guys, im looking for some help. When Rendering the 2.5D grass instance with PNG transparent background, im getting some "dead" space where the grass should be. How can i stop this? I need this grass to look as realistic as i can as its close to the camera, and dont want to rely on photoshop.

Any help would be great!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'dead space'...

Did you use the 1.0.5_exterior_vegetation.pps preset?

When rendering with 2,5D grass you should use this preset:  download here: http://suplugins.com/podium/preset-downloads.php

Sorry, bad choice of phrase. By dead space I mean the transparent area coming through the grass. I think it was obvious what I meant if you look at the picture [wink] thanks I will check out the preset and see if it helps

I think the density of the grass is too low -- are you using the Fur plugin or placing them manually?

Also, it looks very good right around the edges.  Does the ground geometry bulge upward around the center?  I think the grass either needs to be raised a few inches higher toward the center of those beds, or the ground plane needs to be pushed down.

The vegetation preset is recommended for grass, but I think this has more to do with the placement and density of the grass components.

Also, you should use either a grass texture or dirt texture on the ground plane; that way the areas that do show through still look relatively believable.

Hi Justin, thank you for the reply. the surface is flat and i have grass material on it, so it doubt it has anything to do with geometry .See attachments below. i used the fur tool and the density at 40.

Ohh, wow sorry I had a very different mental image of how that was set up.  I thought the white was the ground and the grass was barely poking up out of it.

I would definitely try the vegetation preset as Drawvois suggested, it may be as simple as that.
