I've recently downloaded the trial version of SU Podium V2, with intentions of buying it. But so far it's not fully functional for me.

Im using:
Google SketchUp 8, on Mac OS 10.5.8

So far it's been going good, i got Podium installed, it shows up in SketchUp, and seems to function correctly. But, when i hit the render button, the OOPR 'program' launches, and shows up in my taskbar.. but thats it. No rendered image shows up, and i cant seem to locate any JPEG files or anything anywhere.
How do i render?

Thanks.

Do you see the OOPR dialog, and if so, have you clicked on the preview button?

You need to restart Podium after entering the serial number.

No, i dont see any OOPR dialog? All i see is the logo in my taskbar?
Serial? It's a trial version i've downloaded. I just downloaded a zip file, unpacked it, and all that was in it was an installation file. So i clicked it, installed podium, and opened sketchup to try it out.

But all i see is the OOPR icon in the task bar, nothing happens?

Hope you can help me..

Ohh yes!

I found this:

OOPR is Podium's Render Manager. It is invoked automatically after you click the Render icon and the geometry process is completed. A script file is then saved to a temporary folder and the Podium Render Manager reads the script file and runs it. This is where the raytracing/ global illumination/ anti-aliasing, etc. processes are performed. On some systems, the license manager will not run automatically and you will not get a chance to license Podium. You will find the rendering process has stopped. To solve this problem, make sure you have the most current version of SU Podium V2.

Except my rendering never gets to the point where the 'podium render manager' runs it?

The default location for saved files is in the model directory. The usual reasons for problems are filenames which are too long, and files or pathnames with non-latin, non-alphanumic characters.

Try rendering some of the test files, and storing them somewhere simple like c:/podium. This will test to see whether there is a problem with your configuration or the installation.

Where did you store the test files? Have you tried placing them in c:/podium?

There's more than one person with the Mac trial having this problem.  Can you go to the About this Mac and show us info. about and show us how much memory you have.  I'm trying to nail down the cause of this Mac problem that some people are having.  One suspect is that you have less than 2 gb of RAM memory and that there is something big running in the background.....but that's just a hypothesis at this point.

Also, can you open SketchUp again and to go Plugins --->SU Podium V2 and click on License.  Do you get a dialog with License Manager info?

I'm having this same problem. I'm using Mac OSX 10.6.8, SketchUp v8 and have just downloaded a trial version of Podium v2.8. After hitting render button, I get a "processing scene" status bar. Then nothing. I have set the rendering to download to my desktop and eventually it shows up there as a graphic file (png). I can't open the "Rendering Manager" or the "License" from the Plug ins / SU Podium menu.
Any Help?
Thanks

I'm a bit confused here. Do you actually get a rendered output?

Yes, I get a rendered graphic file when the process is finished. I do not get a separate window showing the rendering in progress.

OOPR isn't part of SketchUp. It is a separate application. It should appear in the Windows task bar.

If you get rendered output, Podium is working. If it really is not appearing, you have a problem with your Windows setup.

In this instance, you might want to try Piriform's excellent free application called CCleaner.

OOPR is showing up in my "Dock", I'm using a Mac. But I am not getting the rendering preview window as shown in your help section "E." (see below). I also can't open the Podium Render Manager to select the Preview menu. Thank you for your attention to me in this forum. It speaks well to your support of this software.

Before rendering, you may want to check the Options menu, to see where the rendered image will be saved and to look at other settings. As a default, the rendered image will be saved to the same folder that your SketchUp model is in. However, the rendered image can be saved in a folder of your choice. There is no browse button to find the folder of your choice. You must key in the address to save the images.

To start the rendering process, click on the Render icon from the Tool bar..

Once the rendering process is invoked, you can preview the rendering progress by picking the Preview menu in the Podium Render Manager UI (OOPR).
