How do you do that thing with the leafs? How do you name the material?

Okay things have changed since these posts, so here is how you name your texture maps:

In your texture folder you need to have all texture maps that pertain to the specific texture effect you require in render (cannot have them in sepreate folders)

Take for instance the tire/tyre above:

tyre.jpg = the main texture without any bumps, clips etc (diffuse)
tyre_bumpmap.jpg = the bump map
tyre_clipmap.jpg =  The negative/alpha map.

Ok. So I basicly just keep the names of the jpg. attached the way they are, and put them in the podium texture folder? I see the bumpmap jpg. is named Leaf4_bump.jpg should it be Leaf4_bumpmap instead, or do both methods work? Also, in SU should the material name be set too Leaf4_bump#?

Thank's

Hi there,
I didn't quite understand how to make the bump effect in SU using podium.
Can you please make a tutorial in which you describe all the passage to have a good quality render?
Thax for the response!

what is the folder that i must save the texture.jpg and texture_bump.jpg?
The FAQ don`t say this...
In any folder or in the texture folder in the folder of podium?

for use it, i must create a new material on Sketchup ant select the texture ?

Just to be correct: It has to be texture.jpg and texture_bumpmap.jpg

You may copy both into your plugins/podium/textures folder, then inside SketchUp import the texture.jpg, apply it on any texture, go into the materials browser and alter the material's name (usually this would be texture.jpg) into for example texture.jpg_bump3. Now Podium will set the bumpiness to 3 using the texture_bumpmap.jpg inside the podium/textures folder.
There's no need to create a new material. Just edit the imported one.

sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but is there any difference between placing a material in Podium's 'texture' folder vs Sketchup's 'materials' folder?

thanks tyro.

just tryin a bump map to get realistic looking brick and having changed the end link of the texture...(ie. texture.jpg to texture.jpg_bump3 the texture which was initially viewed in the thumnale changed from a detail to a blank colour. I would just like to clarify where the _bump3 should be added, as there are two text editing boxes on the material browser I assume the one next to the check box use textured image, accessed after double clicking the thumbnale from your array of textures ? any one
