I am working on a new school project and I am contemplating using Cor-ten steel to clad a large vertical wall.

For those of you who haven't heard of it, this is a good place to start :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weathering_steel

Does anyone have a nice texture (of a reasonably large size preferably) I can use to render it with in Podium?

Rather irritatingly I had quite a nice one I made in Photoshop using some base textures I found with Google image search, but I had a hard disk crash and lost a lot of textures and light models.

So if anyone can help I would be really grateful!

Thanks Alexander! That's a good start. I'll have to play around with it a bit in PS or PSP to increase the image size, reduce variation quite a lot and make it seamless.

If anyone else has a bigger/better image, it will save me quite a bit of time.

Thanks solo, these are cool images of rusty metal, but not quite the same as corten. This has a relatively smooth, quite even characteristically orangey colour which is specifically what I am looking for. Actually I'm sure they could be colourised to get close - but unfortunately being badly red-green colour blind, I can't do this

Here are some links with the sort of thing I had in mind:-

Here are a few rusties that are a little more evenly textured. I got them from http://www.cgtextures.com/index.html they have a wealth of great textures that you can download free.

Thanks,
Booney

Wow, thanks a lot to everyone. Lots of choice now!

I guess I have no choice but to post the render.

Middle to end of next week probably I still have a bit to do before it is ready to render. Still evaluating materials choices. Monday is a public holiday here in the UK, and I'll need a couple of days to explore some ideas.
