That change worked very well.
for clarity, is the "vegetation preset" just the change of that recursion value or did I miss something here?

I understand that also!

using 2 different filters:
and using the -PNG on top- technique for the dirt and cracks on walls and floor

Someone knows about the artifacts on the right wall? I think they are shadows or something more...

From memory, the ray recursion variable is the only thing different in the vegetation preset.

Very nice work indeed Andrès [thumb]

I love the animation although it kind of makes me think if snow (or dust?) but only after thinking about it. It's a powerful touch and adds a nice level to it no matter what it is. How did you do it?

is dust! that was the original idea.

It was made on Adobe premiere with a free particle pack of dust, made the video convert it to GIF in PSD and that's it!

If you want I can make a tutorial [thumb]

i've done similar stuff before so you don't need a tut for me but maybe if anyone else asks.  I really like the idea in general of having minor animations like you see in old arcade game backgrounds. I think it delivers a huge impact and liveliness relative to just static images.

I haven't done anything of mine animated like this in years so it's in an archive somewhere hopefully but I could probably find some arcade background gifs [wink]
