The idea are from Mr. Teknikarsitek and Mr. Atmoko, and I think we can make the IES light-look alike with Podium.

This may be a little explain on how I make the fake-ies lights, Above are the combinations setting of omni and spot light in Sketchup and below are the results.

[test_ies_2012]

The lights intensity may vary, depend of what kind surface that we used. If we need more soft light effect on ies, just use spotlight, cos with spotlight, we can set and arrange the intensity of cone lights.
If you got a good light composition that you want, you can save it as component
Well... This explanation may be too shallow, but I think you've already understand [smile]

This is a skp file that you can play with it

or

Hope someday we can get the light fixture with fake-ies, in our Podium browser.

Have fun.

Hey great work there!

We'll support IES someday, but this is a great way of cheating it for the time being. Some of our lights have sort of IES pasterns due to specific geometry, but nothing like this.

Aida hasn't posted on the forum for a long time, so chances are that this will never be updated...

I am a bit confused about the process for inverted versions. Wouldn't it be simpler to make a copy of the original component, make it unique, open it and rotate the image face by 180°? Didn't have chance to see the high/low res problem though.
