Oh man, what a great idea. Clozer, do you have a set? If so, try it with this sample Pano and let us know!!http://sphcst.com/fko1t That one was converted on spherecast.org, which supports your phone's accelerometer and has a stereo mode. They actually mention Cardboard and Oculus on their website, so it should work.

Good thinking Justin! If he has one, we'll get really fast feedback. The research we did earlier would indicate that it should

Amazon sell these. Mine cost me £10, it should arrive tomorrow Every indication is that this ought to work just fine - as long as you use spherecast's dual image mode for display.

Good News! It works. Issues: 1. Very jittery- even when I set it on a table and am not touching the phone! 2. Phone turns off - (perhaps there was a setting (besides phone settings) that keeps it on.) Our firm has been doing rendering on Revit for use in cardboard and has worked really well. I would like to do the same with Podium too. Autodesk panos:http://cardboard.autodesk.com/

That's excellent news! I'll do some more testing later when my viewer arrives. There are lots of variables to consider, for example the phone and the size of the panorama. I'll post an update later.

For me, this works perfectly with my iPhone 5, and it's very cool indeed
You do need to strap on the headset for best results, otherwise you don't get the effect of a unified image.
I would recommend that everyone tries this out. The device is available on Amazon, and I got mine in about half a day. By that I mean ordered on Thursday evening, delivered Friday morning before noon - and I live halfway up a hill!
Google street view is coming to Cardboard soon, so there are other reasons to get it than just Podium.
Obviously you need a smartphone that is compatible. If you still have a Blackberry style phone (I won't laugh - all right, I will, a bit, but on the inside...) this won't work for you.

Maybe a bit off topic but there is a Chrome add on called "Pano Fetch" that lets you download png EQ image of the streetview position you are currently viewing. You can then add the image as background in Photoshop to Podium panorama rendering. Make sure to set the background to transparent. It is very useful since you can add backdrop that is at least closer representing building surrounding. I know there also is an iPhone/iPad app that lets you take instant 360 pano images by moving the device around and taking photos. Most likely there are similar apps for Android too.
