nice biebel, where've u been?

also why is there reflection on the cobblestone???

and wow, has anyone noticed that if u put 100% reflection on a darker material (black-dark grey) u achieve a much more realistic mirror effect as opposed to the mirrors weve seen in previous bathroom renders where that mirror just doesnt quite pull it off (probably cos the material was white).

let me know if this was painfully obvious to everyone... just realized after looking at biebel's station windows

Thanks for the remarks,
@Daniela,
You are right about the wood texture being too big.
I tried a smaller one before, but the smaller i make them ,the more it get's repetitive.
And yeah,...the Tripods are coming (anyone saw this show on tv  back in the eighties...or am i getting old? )

@Freeagent,
I was kind of busy working but did check the forum onc and a while.
Btw, I  also noticed that mirroring works better using a dark surface.(Actually the windows colour was set to pitch black).

regards,
biebel

i had the same problem about wood texture while working on some school project...and worked  on it for a few nights!!....and now it just jumps right to my eye.......hahah

i managed to solve my problem when i found a wood texture at a higher resolution......

and about those 80`s....i was born in 84  ....that makes me too young to say anything about those days...

Tremendous work as always Biebel.  Good to see your work again.

-how long for the render? there is a LOT of geometry - and a lot of reflection

- I notiticed the ref on the stone as well, but hey why not with "juicers" in the mix.

Free- I had not tried mirror in a while, but that is a great tip - mine had always looked more like they were fogged up - like after a shower -

Here's a slightly different version: tripods are 'black mirrors' now.
Quality slider a little lower. I forgot render time but it was under the hour.

nice work like always.

wonder what if your building was a little shorter, it needs a "raccourci" in perspective. You can get that by narrowing the field of view and zooming in.

I would be interested by any comments  on my first attempt at SUPodium the Kandinsky Room.

What hardware are you using?

Thanks. I am using a three year old centrino laptop to render. Because Podium doesn't support multicores yet i don't need a new PC for the moment.
I wait at least for a year to buy a Vista PC...maybe an eighty core piece?

By the way, the train station was just a model taken from 3D warehouse. Look for 'train' or 'station' as key words.
The model is used only to test indirect light and metal in Podium.

cheers,
biebel

Sometimes i wonder in ouer office are standing computers who don't use there cpu so much isn't it possible to connect them all

so the renderengine is using all the computers ?

Oh bye the way i forgot to say like the chrome output.

did you use just black colour and reflection max?

i really admire both your architectural designs and rendering biebel. i really love your clean minimal design and minimal color rendering.
