I have noticed that turning layers on and off DOES NOT change the number
of faces being calculated on the initial process. This is terrible, fix this please.

addt:

1) add some spherical skies to library. Helps a bunch on reflections
2) fix the 2 point persp
3) multicore rendering / network rendering

It will not change the number, but it has an effect.

1: If you use physical sky that should do it, you will just not have clouds. Only a perfect sunny day
3: Multicore rendering has always been fully supported with V2. Has for network , I am my self not sure anymore if it is useful. I used to be the one who brought that point up over a year ago. But that was with v1. V2 is so fast, the only use if for heavy resolution QMC renders, which is only a small part of Podium use. Plus we tend to go toward GPU acceleration instead. More speed is up ahead, we should not really need this IMO.

Network rendering would be very useful for animations and high quality, high resolution images.

Yes.

For animations, you can always split the load manually into some computers.
