Any word on progress with missing texture issues?

I'd love to make Podium my go-to render solution (it's very fast and very good-looking).

I have found the sporadic missing (black) texture bug to be somewhat of a deal-breaker. I only know how to deal with them by a random combination of exploding components, copying textures, editing them, etc. It's really quite cumbersome.

What's the word?

Best,
O

Black textures are happening really rarely now. Make sure you never use light power with refection/translucivity and you will only have them in some rare circumstances.

Do not forget to update!

Actually, I think this might be something you are doing - or not doing. I never, ever have black surfaces I can't fix. It's very rare indeed for me to have them at all.

Can you upload a scene or a component you are having difficulty with?

This shouldn't be an issue at all...

Could be. I'll upload one next time I run into it.

I've attached the .skp and latest render where I've seen a black texture. No light power, reflectivity, etc. Having this sort of issue pretty commonly.

Have a look if you get a chance. Thanks!

Come on, help me out a bit, 8.1mb for this tiny file? Purging and zipping would be a start.

Or - can you isolate the problem component?

I have a slooow internet connection

Sorry man. I've stripped it down to the problem component.

Looks like you have multiple nested components and textures with no extensions.

Podium Tools identifies this problem.

Let me guess, you are using a mac and don't have file extensions turned on
Never a good idea. I'll bet you also have occasions where you mail files to Windows users and they can't read the attachments

Edit the texture, give it a proper extension, reload and it will render just fine!

Damn son. You nailed it. Hadn't tried out Podium tools yet.

I did a fresh OS install recently and hadn't turned extensions back on.

Thanks so much.
