Hello everyone:

I have not posted for a while so I thought I should drop a few of my latest attempts into the mix. I've been traveling alot, so while I check into the forum from time to time, (just to check up on biebel, sepo and solo the great's latest works, you guys are awsome!), I have not had much time to satisfy my Podium addiction.

I've been playing around with backgrounds and struggling to find adequate high resolution photos of landscapes.  I know, "Shaky, get your camera out and take some photos of your own", but it is still March in Northern Wisconsin, meaning everything is brown, wet or dead.  Until we get some greenery around here I am stuck trolling the net looking for nice shots that I can tile or expand into backgrounds  Anyone have any brilliant ideas where I can get my grubby hands on these photos?

Playing with shadows, attempting to get the kids off to school early in the morning.  This one is inspired by David:  if you look closely, you will see the "Great Gazoo" on the television, through the living room windows.

Another early morning shot

Trying to capture twilight, not certain that I managed it.

An attempt at a hilly background.

That last one is great, nice mood.
In the first image maybe add some structure to the road material?

Great to see some imagery of you again shackyshak.
cheers

Hey Shaky..
The backgrounds on the first three look out of scale to me..in proportion to the houses. But the renders of the structures are really nice. The last one you really nailed it..I like that one the best. Background looks good and I like the barn/country feel of the design. Nice!

Thanks fellows, its nice to find a bit of time to contribute to the forum again.  I'm off on one more road trip tomorrow, then I hope to be a more regular member of the forum again.

biebel, duly noted about the road surface.  Funny how sometimes the most obvious things get by without notice.

David:  your scale comment is correct, I feel the same way about a couple of these renders, but I don't think they are horribly out of scale, just enough to be irritating:  That is percisely my point.....finding good background photos on the net, with enough resolution to cover the size of these exteriors without pixialating, has taken more time than I have had to contribute to the task as of late.  I've been finding some images on the net and stitching them together (note, some of these backgrounds are actually mirrored immages, blended with some photo blending tricks).   Does not quite cut it yet.  That is why I'm eagerly waiting for the real spring here in  Wisconsin so that I can start taking my own background photos.

Shaky.
