At the moment, it is the only thing that makes ma want to try another engine...

It would be very cool especially if it would be simple as the things we have now.

I am considering opening a small 3d business and network rendering would be essential. Even just for final rendering of university work, farming the 4 computers well have would help a LOT.

What do you think guys?

This (and render farm support) are technically possible. It will come down to demand and priorities so if anyone else wants this - add your voice here.

Podium needs this. i can scrape together a ton of old processors in sum old cases and run a nice render farm. I think a render farm is the only way to make practical use of the noisy preset.

This is one of my favourites, but I don't decide what gets included. If you want it, vote for it and make your case!

please please please please please please please
include network rendering capability
really soon

I don't think I should explain why network rendering is pretty high up on my want list.  You can optimise the render engine up to a point before quality suffers, from there on it is raw processing power that counts.

Or buy a multi thread machine.
I have a 16 threads machine here. So, one noisy preset pass= 16 passes. On a core2duo (2 threads) this is as 1 noisy preset pass =2 passes.  You need eight core2duo machines to catch this speed. Please buy an i7 machine and forget the render farm, its more practical you see.

Hum... network rendering.... mean you can use all your computer in your network who has the client. So you can improve speed ( a lot in my case) without spending a penny.

Or in a classroom for example, you could render really big scene real fast.

I already have a quad core extreme edition machine.  Do not for 1 second think things scale at a linear rate.  Buying an 8 or 16 core machine costs a premium, we have 15 core duo stations doing nothing for at least 12h a day, why should I buy a monster machine when I already have the processing power at hand but is not able to utelise it?

I must agree, network rendering is a must. Most folk (myself included) have a bunch of older machines lying around that need to work. I have 3 quads and two dual cores connected with an i7 for rendering animation with Vue and it makes a huge difference, an animation of one minute can take around 2 days on a high setting and resolution using one machine (8 threads) but connect it to a network and in essence you have 24 threads with the animation divided between all machines logically, completing the animation in 14 hours.

or for a static image at 600 dpi 6000x2800 at high quality in a matter of minutes.

So yes even podium could use this feature as it will handle animation and there always will be a scene that could use some speed, maybe even if it's only used for renders with 'noisy' presets.

This is already supported by the engine and works very well. There is even a commercial render farm which is set up to support it.

So, regarding the V2 implementation of the engine, it is not a matter of 'how', but rather of 'if' and 'when'.

If there is sufficient demand (if you want it - vote here) it will be implemented. The more of you that want it, the quicker you are likely to get it!

This is one I would really like to see happen
