I was just composing a long question with many reference images on how to render a more realistic wine glass, so was pleased as punch to see your new advanced glass material.  I'm playing with it now, but finding it really tricky to find all the inner and outer surfaces of some things I'm working with and apply these materials myself without a whole lot of time invested.

So, speaking for all the interior designers out here who use Podium and need to place entourage in our images, I'd request that a wine glass be your next model that you use this material for.  We use them over and over when we model.  Both an empty one and another with wine in it would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Diane, agreed it is tricky to select the inner faces.

I believe they're working on applying the glass material to about 30 of the Browser components -- I assume we'll include some kind of indication in the thumbnail or component name to indicate which items have advanced glass one them.  If not, I'll at least be able to include a list on the glass page when they're updated.

Hello Justin! just wondering is there any other advanced material like the advanced glass? in the archives? or in some dusty folder? just pure curiosity...

I don't believe so, though I know one of the major goals for Podium 3 is a more robust material system.

However, as I believe Jim (Bigstick) has mentioned before, all we can really say about Podium 3 is that it's being worked on.  Not time-frame, in other words. [smile]

It may be easier to do a select-all (ctrl-a) and paint with the internal material then manually paint the outer glass where it's easier to do piece by piece.
