There is a new Lighting Tutorial that has been included in http://www.suplugins.com.  You can link to it from the help page or go directly to it - http://www.suplugins.com/index.php?p=page&page_id=LightingTutorial  This sheds some light (excuse the pun) on the mystery of omni lights as well as good examples of LEMs.

suddenly i am getting a psychedelic blue tinge, after reseting the model am now getting a psychedelic green! what cud be the cause ?

That is an old tutorial. I think omni has changed since. Nevertheless could you post  your  renders.

thank you for the share. very usefull specially for me... 
that doing all Sketchup + podium with self learning. again..thank you very much
if i may have suggest, if someone could post the step b step to make lighting scene or effect to be more precisely, how they will project to the material like wall, floor.
sorry for my bad english.
i find myself still trouble to set the lighting as real as it should.
here i attach my render. far from good.
please c&c..
