Hello all, *(interior) So in an effort to decrease rendering time I have swapped podium "omni" lights with light powered textures. often 12-20 strength. If placed correctly these can cut your rendering time in half compared with omni lights. It is not a perfect solution but an excellent tool in a pinch. I post this because after spending a lot of time searching I didn't find this online anywhere. I don't know if I'm just behind everyone else and my search skills are terrible but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this. Opinions? AB

You mean LEMs - Light Emitting Materials. I prefer these to omnis actually, but you can't use them in all situations.

Personally, I like LEM better. You often need less light sources, and they make great soft light/shadows!

My previous experience with LEM's was that reflected surfaces around them had some grainy problems. Is this another "use QMC" situation?

Did you use high intensity? It is known to produce grain. QMC will not reduce grain, it will make more grain.
