Hi jlo,

Thank you for your frankness. It help to go forward. I agree with the general ambiance and the sharp triangle shadows in the pillow. I think I had to read it :-).
Of course I have kept older versions of the render, so I can go back.
I will publish a new render without the biggest "bugs" but with the first render general ambiance.

The risk with user comments is that we pay to much attention to "details" and no more to what made the render great.

Again, it's just personal preference and not one is wrong and the other is right. If you like these changes better than you stick with it. It's your work. That is the hard part about creative endeavors or art- everybody has an opinion and multiple different opinions can be both wrong and right or irrelevant. For me, it's mostly about shades of grey and layers of importance and meaning and relevance. I, also, agree with your statement about getting too into the weeds.

As an example, on my last render I posted here, I included photoshop lens flares over the lights which are a big no no around here (and I knew it before I did it) as it comes off as gimmicky and non-realistic but I know my client has the preference for those kinds of effects and tweaks. she thinks those stylized effects are what makes the renders better and cool so I added them and I'm ok with it and the getting guff around here [wink]

Ultimately, it's your decision (and potentially your clients) that have the highest decision making priority.

This is a great render, I love the lighting and the detail you have is excellent.

It also has a lived in feel to it which is not easy to do well.

Great work.

regards,
Nat
