Hi TBD, I have been reading a lot on this forum and understand that there are a lot of plans for version 2.

My quetion is; will 2 be available on Mac OSX?

I have purchased the full licence but I just cannot cope with Windows crashing when I need it most! I presented a project last week with one render beacuse of Microsoft; the brief said six renders minimum!

My iMac is so reliable, it would be fantastic!

Kind regards

Paul

was the whole Windows crash or just SU/Podium ?

a Mac version is in sight but it has lower priority now due the big work involved for porting.

The whole Windows OS, over and over again! I use Parallels on my iMac for Windows (only bought it to use Podium)! 2 hours of rendering and 99% anti-aliasing and it crashed. Then kept crashing. Took 8 hours to get a two hour render out of it!

Well it's good to know that it'll be on Mac one day!

Thanks TBD

Sounds like that might be the core of your problem....I have had bug splats and crashes of Podium or SU but never the whole operating system...but then again I am using a true windows machine..not a windows adapter bolted onto a Mac...

You may be correct Fella77!

But, there's no way i'm gonna fork out for another computer (PC) just to use one plugin(however fantastic it is)!

Well , you would be surprised how much quicker your renders would cook.
Also the desktop PC's are really cheap at moment.

Got a new mac and a home built super pc and with Max, the pc is faster. Mac is great for video and audio, those days are over where Mac ruled design. The pc is king, and with Mac moving towards "universal" software and using Intel infrastructure...soon it will be a white or silver pc. Even these days 20% of software available for pc gets to Mac, 70% of Mac users use cross over emulators for software unavailable to Mac users. Mac is an oversized ipod these days, great for multimedia but not that great for multitasking...now the new quads are...well pc's really running Mac gui.
