Hello all, wow this has been an awesome competition to watch unfold, definitely the biggest one through podium yet!  I have been toying with two scenes, a modern loft like interior or a more classically inspired roof top lounge.  After much debate I decided to go with the Classical scene as I feel all the lighting, reflections, and more browser content does a better job of showing off podiums true power!  After finally getting some time to work more on this, now here are two of my earliest renderings while trying to decide between the two scenes, I will follow up with the development of the scene.

Thanks and good luck to all!!

Paul

Here is where I am at now, this is very close to my final, NOT my final YET...  But close...  And the info bar came out super small so I cropped it and attached separately.  I have done a little bit of post processing, mostly light levels and color balance....

Thanks

Haha, thank yall very much I appreciate the compliments!

I might have gotten carried away one night and put waaaaayyy more time into this than I thought I would....   trying to wrap it up so I can get back to real work!!  [biggrin][comp]

I big thanks to the Podium team for the inspiring competition, lots of fun!  It would be fun to do an exterior rendering competition also since there are so many exterior objects from the browser to play with as well!!  [thumb]

Thanks again

Here are my final submissions, I will also upload them to the "box" as these are lower quality samples.  Thanks for checking out my work!!

After I created the main scene, I could really envision what the rest of the room could potentially be.  So I decided to create the panoramic 360 view as well to show off the rest of the scene.  Basically I see this as being like a roof top Bar/Lobby area with hallways leading away to conference rooms or hotel rooms, with a large open stair in the middle and a large glass pyramid skylight.  All the lights, 90% of textures, probably 95% components, and all the people and vegetation are all taken from the browser.  What an amazing resource as shown off by all of our unique submissions.  Can't wait for the next contest to spark our imaginations!  Thanks podium team [biggrin]

Here are the raw renderings:

With this scene I had an issue with my ceiling lighting, the light blue is wrong, and with time I could only piece together a fix instead of doing a full scene rendering again. So to get the right color and levels I had to do more photoshopping than I thought, with more time I could have adjusted the light colors and levels.

As you can see below after adjusting the ceiling lights it renders much more like how the finals came out [smile]  This one took 18 hours the first scene took 16 hours...

Time is money. Sometime we have to work for free... but this free work  time... can bring us some nice projects from others customers.

And yes.. you have some nice projects on your website [wink]

Thank you Nibelungs, I completely agree and that is probably why I put so much effort into it.  That and the passion that I am sure we all share for creating amazing places out of nothing!  (of course with the help of tools like podium and the browser)  The prize money would be great, but as you suggest, getting exposure and possibly new clients would be even better!  Not to mention this was just fun to be mostly unconstrained to create whatever you want and have fun with it!!  [biggrin]  Good luck to all can't wait for the next contest!
