hi justin. just a question... under the contest rules, it is said that under our own WIP thread we should post at least one work in progress showing the SU podium info bar.

"Create a WIP thread in the contest forum: Post as often as you like, but we'd like to see at least one work in progress image showing the SU Podium info bar. Create your thread here."

i'm just wondering since not everyone on the contest have posted at least one image on their own thread especially those that have created their own thread earlier, will they be allowed to just submit their final render image without any WIP shown on their thread?

Good question... we'll go through them all, and it's possible we may need to make a few judgement calls.  Some people haven't posted images with the info bar, for example, but have shown screenshots inside SketchUp showing OOPR, and I consider this perfectly fine.

We've also had a couple people upload ZIP files to the Box account containing their final images and some progress shots; this is fine too.

However, if there's any question that the image wasn't created specifically for the competition (ie. past client work), or wasn't rendered with SU Podium that submission won't be considered.  There have been two "rejected" entries so far, and those threads have since been deleted.  I've just gone through them all, and there are probably two more threads that I'll reach out about via PM.

Anyway, the TLDR for everyone reading is:
If there's any question your entry isn't original to the comp or wasn't created with SU Podium/Browser, I'll send you a message. But come Nov 14th, if we have any reason to think you submitted a render from say.... Vray or Thea, or just submitted an image from your portfolio, it's extremely unlikely you'll be chosen as a winner.

Good timing, you caught me online [smile]

Any post processing you want to do in Photoshop or PIE is totally acceptable!

Hi Justin,

I just uploaded my final image to the box link.

Could this be the one judged and not the one on my competition thread, as for some reason when I post it on the thread it doesn't look quite right? Maybe the file was to large? Its just not as clear as the image on my computer.

Cheers,

Joe

Hi Joe, yeah no problem.  I'm guessing the web browser is resizing it to fit in the window, but we'll definitely use the full size version uploaded to Box.

Hi Justin,

Currently having issues with the zip file to uploaded to Box. Is there another way to upload? Email perhaps? File is 36 mb with multiple images contained. Is there a limit on the file size to the box website?

- Mclaren

Edit

I uploaded into my post thread. I hope that is ok. Let me know if you need the zip file. Also please provide/confirm.

Hi Mclaren,

Just saw your thread, that's perfectly fine.  Thanks for the heads up about Box.  Shouldn't be file size, since there have been a few submissions larger than yours, but I'll make sure the uploader is still working.

If anyone else is having trouble with the Box uploader, and don't want to post your final entry in a thread, feel free to check with me here to confirm whether it uploaded.  Or you can send a ZIP up to 25mb to justin@cadalog-inc.com.

Justin

Hi George, yes everything looks great with the submission!

I am working on sorting and organizing all the images, and want to hopefully get a page up tomorrow to make it easier for people to view the entries.  Then I'm guessing judging/discussion will go on few days (we're in about four different area codes).

I'll write a post here when it's a bit clearer how soon the announcement will be ready.

By the way.... our sincerest thanks go out to everyone who participated!

Really, the level of interest and participation was far beyond what I think any of us expected, and you all submitted some incredible work.  It's been a great pleasure watching the images develop over the past month or so, and really fantastic to see a lot of new users joining/posting in the forum.
