This is a sneak preview of the next version of Podium, which has support for automatic configuration of SketchUp materials.

The attached renders are zero configuration. Just standard SU materials applied, no tweaking at all. Just click 'render'.

And no I can't tell you when it's going to be released.

Depends if we add some more stuff to this version, or wait for the next...

Shouldn't be too long to wait though. Best case, a few days, worst case, couple of weeks.

Just use SketchUp base materials, make sure the automatic materials option is used.
It does not ask more of your PC, it configures the SU material for you.

What about mirror reflections?
on what basis does it work?

Quite simply we have configured them for you.

If you use a glass material, as you can see above, it looks like... well, glass
Same with water, concrete, brick, stucco. Everything has been configured by us manually, there is no algorithm at work.

There is no mirror textures in SketchUp by default, so you'll have to use the "chrome" material from the free section of the PDM browser materials.

It is being tested. One of the things we have implemented is embedding presets within the script file. This is part of the implementation for rendering on remote machines and render farm support.
