Hello,

I am having an issue with Pro walker GPU not rendering all the way to my full sample count for still renderings.

I have tried 200 1000 and 10000 samples. I start to generate the image and watch in the bottom left the sample count. Some times it only gets to 43 samples then begins to render again at 1 sample. The image will be generated and saved but very grainy.

Is there something I am missing, or doing wrong?  I have it set to PR mode, Denoise on, Out put 3840 x 2160, .png , 1000 samples, Clear sky simulation.

Its a rather large model 147MB and I am doing an interior scene.

Thank you
Jackie

To add to these issues, it is also switching from PR mode to ID mode after I click capture an image, I am not sure what is happening. This only happens occasionally.

You are running a fully license version?  Not a trial version?
What GPU are you using?

One thing which may or may not help is to update your GPU driver.  If you are using GeForce (GTX) go here - https://www.geforce.com/drivers

Can you upload your model from here and Justin and I can test it.  Scrolll down to the upload section - http://www.suplugins.com/podium/support.php
Or use your own share drive system.

So this only happens in Capture Image?  When you save an image (capture) denoise is applied at the end of the rendering, I think so if the rendering was interrupted but saved, the image might look very grainy/ noisy.

How about trying this. Create two very close to each other views. Then an extremely short key frame animation. Make the Frame rate 2 and Delete Images is checked off.
frame-rate-2.jpg

Then create a movie.  A folder will be created with images for each frames.  So if the animation is extremely short and the animation has a frame rate of 2, there should only be handful of images in the folder.  Set the resolution that you want and the Render Mode that you want in the Movie and in the Path.

Do the images in the frame folder look complete?

I have a full license of Pro Walker GPU. Graphics card is the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. Sketchup 2018.

I have tried generating the movie like you stated below. I am only ending up with one image in the folder and I have added screen shots of the setting to this box link along with everything I have generating in testing this model over the last three days. I did add the monitors after testing it for a day so that is why some of the renderings generated do not have them. I plan to further embellish, once I get this to render to 1000 samples.

https://meadowsoffice.box.com/s/pef6qhoruusm6r01jtj9nd3irce712jt This is password protected and in the email that I sent to Cadalog to let you know about the SU file I sent, I have included the password there.

In the folder there are about 3 images that look clearer than the rest, But I have never seen the bottom left sample count go higher than 223 and I have it set to 1000. I think at one point I even tried 10K. there are also some with the HDRI background or cloudy simulation. I was trying a bunch of different combinations wondering If that had something to do with it not rendering to the full sample count.

I had thought maybe it was the hidden LEMS I had in the model (that I know will not render in walker), so I went through and deleted them all and purged everything that had that material. It still did not make it past 186 samples. If I let pro walker just run without the “capture an image” I have seen it go higher than 223 but not much higher than 350 and it will say "rendering complete" in bottom left.

What I have noticed it doing, It shows in the middle of my screen the dialog box that says "rendering" and it begins counting in the bottom left the samples. Like stated above I have seen it get to 223, What then happens is the screen will go black (not the whole computer, just everything inside the pro walker window but I can still see the menu with the ID, PR, settings, lights, etc.) and then the dialogue box will disappear. It will then switch to rendering 1 sample in the bottom left corner and there will be an image saved. Sometimes it won’t make it past 43 samples, the screen will go black and an image will be saved.

Sometimes I have it set to PR mode and it will start to generate but then upon the rendering starting, it will switch to ID mode. I did let some of them generate just to see maybe it would look clearer but also terminated some of the processes. Those are the dark ones in the folder.

Sometimes the whole program crashes also, but it just disappears, not like a bug splat in SU. I have set it to render walked away for a minute come back and the program just closed itself.

I have also gone though and deleted almost everything not in this view that I want to capture to try and lower the file size. Hoping maybe that will help. This full file size (which I have generated 30+ scenes from in V2.5) is around 235 MB.

I have attached a rendering of this from Su podium V2.5 and, I have generated it in the BETA of V2.6. I am trying to see speed/quality between them all.

And then for fun I attached the actual space from our photographer, this is my companies “showhouse.” I am not sure why they had him photoshop out the fire extinguisher. It’s there so I’m leaving it! I also need to go back and re build the stadium couch. There was no model for it and I had horrible drawings that I had to work from. I built that before I saw what the actual couch looks like.

Podium V2.5 rendered this in 1 hr 43 min 43 second 3840 x 2160 on my second machine:

Podium V2.6 BETA rendered this in 1 hr 47 min 31 second on one of my Render pro BOXX’s 3840 x 2160 this was on the fast rendering mode in the Environment tab. Right now, I have it testing on the slow mode. And I am not sure what the benefit of this because slow it Definity is. It took about an hour to process entities (like the old podium where you saw it count to the amount of entities in the model) and then it still has just been saying receiving from network client, then final !!! Unknown symbol, it’s been over 2 hours so far. I will eventually add the rendering to this thread when it completes but wanted to send out this message along with the file to cadalog. I also attached a PDF time marking it so far.

I'm having this same issue.
I've been rendering both in ID and PR mode and making a composite image in photoshop to compensate for the PR render not fully completing its assigned sample rate.

I'm running with 32gb ram, GTX 1080 Ti and a SS drive
