Hello podium peoples,
what settings would anyone suggest for this situation. I have a marquee with plastic 'windows'. i have created a tile-able texture of plastic, attached, which i've made transparent. I get a nice effect through the windows on the walls but refracting the light doesn't seen to look realistic. do i need refraction?
the bump is set to 13. any higher and it distorts whats behind it so you can tell what it is. refreaction set to 1.1 in these pics.
Also the roof i completely left out as i wasn't getting anything like reality, it went a bit bonkers, so its just the texture with transparency. (which you cant see) time ran out to test.
pics are a - the sketchup version so you can compare to the refracted render, the next pic

heres an earlier version where i placed a tall blue block, much higher that the marquee, outside the window and attempted to get the roof texture to work like the sides, its the same as the sides in regards to the settings.
I can't see any of the block.
with the angle we are viewing it at and the refraction is there a way of making this plastic roof work?
