Hi, I recently started using SU Podium, once in a while I tried previous demo versions but didn't like the image quality (others do well but not me).
Finally with V2 things are quite different and with the help of this forum I've begun making my renders look a lot better.

Within SU in some models I import textures as Images, when you use transparent png you can apply them to faces like decals.
CGTextures has a collection of this png files that can be used to add detail to your model.
This are the same you use in PP later.

I've tried to render this but Podium ignores them.
It would be very nice to have this feature in a future version.

regards,

Pablo

You can use those but you have to turn them into material. The other problem is that you will need to leave some space between the two faces. Alternative is to blend the textures in PS which I would recommend.

Hi Davor, thanks for the quick reply.
I tried both of your suggestions, they do the trick but they aren't clean and easy as it is in sketch up.
I imagine there are lots of improvements that are been consider to the future version.
I noticed there was no mention to this in the forum, that's why a decided to bring this up.
Meanwhile just as a matter of choice I'd stick to PP to apply them.

thanks again for your feedback.

Explode these images and move them 1mm or so in front of the surface behind. This works just fine, and I've used it for patterns on glass.

We don't need to do anything to Podium to make this work, but the ability to render imported images without exploding them would save time.
