Ah!

Elementary my dear Watson...when navigating around the shadow setup I adjust my model to "Shaded" and when ready to render I switch to "Shaded with Textures" It avoids the lag. All textures were there...and believe it or not...no post editing was done to that render. Keep an eye out as I have another in the oven....

Ah Solo...you are wise beyond your years..that is a good tip..I get very annoyed when my models get busy with textures and my computer starts to chug...I knew it did that when you turned off shadows...but I never thought to turn off the textures.
