Hi everyone,

Here is my latest project. I have been contracted by an artist, Christopher St.Leger,  who is moving into the online sales arena. In his research he has discovered that artists who have images of their work in interior settings have higher sales on the platform he is looking at. So he has asked me to do a series of renderings for him in different interior settings.

These are 2 scenes I have started so far with his work inserted. The frame styles and sizes are provided by the artist.

Let me know what you think, these are both WIPs with very little post.

Straight out of the PIE with levels adjusted, tiny bit of color balance and vignetting (the prize goes to anyone who recognizes this interior):

Thanks for looking!

Hey - nice!

The minimalist furniture and the composition of the second image works really nicely 😉

The first image actually displays the artwork better, but the shininess of the sofa is a bit distracting in my opinion. The viewpoint isn't quite as nice IMO, but it's a better sales image.

Wow, impressive! I think you nailed it.  Same architect as your life house project, right?

Anyway, these look awesome! I think I prefer the second because all the elements interact so beautifully.  Although, now I get what Jim is saying because my attention was immediately drawn to how well that space is composed and I barely even thought about the painting.

Though I assume it will be shown alongside a full size version of the artwork on the sales platform, so that might not matter.

@arqcova  Yes you got it, Pawson. Very impressive, first try [wink] It is from his own house as shown in Herbert Ypma's 1996 book, London Minimum.

I agree with the comments about the two scenes. The minimalist (Pawson) interior would be more to set the scene so to speak, while the one with the sofa is to focus more on the painting. And yes the sofa is a bit too shiny, reads more like vinyl than leather.

BTW the studio setup tutorial has been immensely helpful to me with these renders, and also just in general
