OK this is my wish list.

A much better integration with Sketch UP. This means:
1. FULL A channel transparency support (0-255) with pngs, as SU does.
2. Support for the fog effect.
3. Support for sky colours.

A better installer. This means installation for all users (all users library) - It seems like a bug to me, sorry. (mac users are not so happy BTW)

A good idea is to have individual textures folder in the projects folder. That would be great.

Soft shadows from the sun. Now we don't have to scale the model for this, this shouldn't be difficult.

As you see, my wish list mostly has to do with what SU natively can do.
Others like blurry reflections, translucency, normal maps, omni and spot lights with blurry shadows the first, without so blurred the second, some kind of blurry transparency (not a bad idea) etc. are welcome. But these should be in v2.

Minimizing podium window would be great too.

Haha! Seconded @ all these wishes!

Will getiing v2 require another purchase, or is it meant to be an update to v1?

Minimizing works. You need to double click on the bar of the Podium GUI.
V2 will be upgrade for existing users.

Another way to minimize is if you install Podium tool bar than if you close Podium while rendering it will not stop rendering. Same thing works with no toolbar installed. When you click on the show it will still be rendering without stopping.

Thx for the info, and sorry for my wrong request, but would it be possible to make the window "stick" to the others like the default SU one actually does?

unfortunately not as Google doesn't provide a mechanism to add new windows to stack manager

That's okay, I noted them for V2
Obviously I can't guarantee that you'll get them all...

SU is a great app. The winner in this "contest" for all these renderers made for SU, should be this one, the simpler, the easiest, with the better integration with SU. IMO
Podium should have all these plus a great photorealistic quality. Is close enough to be the winner.

Ups I forgot. Another wish. Reflection (blurred or plain) should be an option of the texture and not of the surface.

"Reflection (blurred or plain) should be an option of the texture and not of the surface."

That will be the way in  V2.

in V2, surface properties will be assigned by material not by face. There will be an option to blur the reflections based on a material. It will be the same with blurred refraction (translucency).

However - everyone must be prepared for the fact that this will noticeably increase render times!

Anything which creates more calculations (or increases the complexity of the calculations) means that the CPU has more work to do and therefore will take longer to process the instructions to generate the rendered image.

Render speed is something we don't have comparative data on yet. We know that with lots of lights and LEMs, V2 will be significantly faster. We know that using additional omni lights to boost lighting in interiors will not be required as often - if at all.

We are hoping that V2 will be faster for all scenes though, it ought to be.

As for light bounces, I'm not sure what you mean. The engine has the facility to set the number of bounces, (and it can be configured in the presets) but you won't need to set this
