I was having a problem with SU 2018 Mac in that every time I closed it SU would go spinning forever and could only be closed via force-quit as it was "not responding" anymore. This was happening with SU 2017 too.

Well, trying to find an answer to that I removed all extensions and started putting them back again by small groups. After several tests, I found out that the extension causing the "not responding" is Podium!

Just to be sure I removed it and reinstalled it several times. Without Podium (but with a large number of other extensions) SU 2018 behaved smoothly and closed without delay. As soon as I install Podium the problem goes back.

I thought that perhaps there could be some other extension that was incompatible to Podium and tried to have just Podium and the extensions that ship with SU (the ones whose name start with su_) installed. Same problem.

In short: Sketchup is behaving normally only when Podium is not installed.

I am running Mac OS 10.12.6, Sketchup 18.0.16976 and Podium V2_5_801.

I'm having the same trouble with my MacBook Pro with SU 2017 Make and the latest Podium version. It doesn't shut off. I have to force quit every time then it wants to send an error report which I decline. If it's Podium, I'm not going to remove it. I'll keep force quitting it.

Thanks for the heads up. I assumed it was simply an issue with SU. (I won't be removing Podium any time soon though.)

I am not removing Podium either!

There is something that can minimize the problem: if you first close all open files and then close Sketchup you do not need to force-quit it. I am not sure it works all the time but so far so good.

It's a strange one. Happens with my 2008 Mac Pro in the office, but not with my 2013 MacBook Air at home.

We can't duplicate a particular common set of parameters to narrow down a bug though. We'll keep an eye out for it with the next version though.

Same to me Sketchup pro 2018
MacBook Pro 15" 2017
Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 (16G1114)
Podium 2.5.8 (for SU 2018)

Uninstall Podium re-install: no solve
Uninstall SU re-install with Podium : no solve
Extensions out with Podium : no solve

Podium out: solve

Edit: I sent a message to the hotline but no response yet, week-end?
I sent also one to Trimble with a response that time, saying it's Podium which causes this bug.
Not any more force quit when Podium is not on place.

Have you tried creating a new user account and installing SU and Podium to see if the problem still reoccurs?

Same here. SU pro 2017 and 2018. I’ve just lived with it. I can’t recall if it happened when I went to 2017 or up to OS X El Capitan or Sierra.
