Hi. I want to render inside a small room, top view, but if I use a section plane on the top (to cut the roof off so I can see it properly) the light will stream into the room and make the render unrealistic. How can I avoid this /make a light-proof section plane?

Firstly how can you render using  section plane when Podium does not support SU sections?
Secondly if you use Zorro 2 plugin you will be able cut the model and  render it (make sure you do that on copy of  the file) If you do not want the light to be pouring in there why not switch of  the sun and  render occlusion only.

i it's better if you make model group it by layer, i mean front, right, left rear wall must have their own group you can hide and unhide same with floors and ceiling with roof...
that's what i'm doing always on my interior SU 3d
