ok. this is another handy thing which i wish for podium. saving materials with podium refelctive settings on it. this materials can be name too (shiny wood, chrome, gold, aluminum etc. etc...) once you save them you can re-use them again later. this will appluy also in bumps right. sharing materials therefore will be easy. another thing is those who are purchasing/purchased the license version could have even have these preset materials as goodies. sorry im a lazy guy, i need quick quick and efficient thing. this is the main reason why i like using podium and sketchup during the conceptual stage. nomeradona

I've experimented with programs which work exactly this way. I am not sure which is better, but it seems that the these are two different philosophical methods of building a rendering program? - It is a time saver to save components to a library which have reflection or light assigned. jph

Hmmmm... I am not sure that's a great positive, I position and adjust my textures quite a bit and once a reflection or light value is entered adjustments stop as bug splat is imminent. What might be a great inclusion would be select all same materials and add a value without splat...maybe a count down as podium finds all faces so that one knows when it is done and can continue without interupting it and bombing out.

Assigning properties to materials is something that I have discussed with TBD, and he has been looking into it. I don't know whether it will be in v1.5 yet because no-one knows exactly what will be in v1.5 yet . I suspect not. Possibly v2.0 though. If everything goes according to plan, v2.0 will be a major leap forward.
