Did anyone already manage to setup a convincing brushed metal texture?

I'm desperately trying to figure one out, but somehow it doesn't look right ...

... and this seems to be the closest I can get:

Gee....that looks damn good to me.  But I'm easy to convince.
Can you post this model somewhere so I can look at the textures and properties you used.  Looks awesome.

What settings are you using for this? Looks like too much bump to me.

the texture is one from the free section of the podium browser ... the settings are added below - nope, no bump

looks still too silverish to me

well, this also depends on the lighting and last not least the preset

I can live with it this way, I just was wondering if anybody had something better to share here ...

That's because you are using chrome settings for stainless steel

There is only 1 free metal material - chrome.

The Paid section has the stainless steel material, and the settings aren't like this.

Hint: you're right about the reflectivity, and also look at that refraction.

mhh, I used stainless_01 from the free section, turned down the 'brightness' a lot and also chose the refraction settings for steel ... anything else I missed here?

Yes, you are using the 'textures', not the 'materials'.

In the Material library, everything is preconfigured, texture, Podium settings, everything.

Thank you anyway.

I'll better be checking the materials (!) section next time ...
