I want that podium will have a separate camera, so you can choose a better view, so like 3dmax. Use the screen to render sketchup is not good for a good view.I wish that future versions will have changed, but should also pay attention to render speed, an advantage of the podium that day is lost

If we use vr*y, there is a plugin called vray_toys created by Thomthom. With that plugin, we can set the Sketchup camera view accordance with what we want.

Really hope that someday we can set the camera view directly inside Podium

No - this won't happen. Too much complexity and cost for a feature that a tiny % of people will use.

Podium is not Vray and we don't want that level of complexity. There are far more important things that we are already planning to add, but haven't because of time.

It is worth noting that Askvis didn't add this themselves, Thomthom  did. Of course if he wants to add a feature like this for Podium, we would be pleased to help

Of course we do not mean to compare vray with Podium, just wanna tell about there is a plugin that can do that. and to clarify what koogo mean about preview rendering result.

Too much complexity and cost ???,  oh, Okay, we understand
but a tiny % of people will use ??? ...are you sure

Btw, just a wish that we can render with Podium with the result that not only rendering the landscape but also portraits and panoramas

I really doubt there is something you can't do with Sketchup scenes and post process.

Most podium user are not power users. Camera is more complicated, which means few will use, yes

The fact that Asgvis didn't include this in their plugin (and they are far better resourced than we are) perhaps tells you something

To illustrate the complexity and cost argument, if your suggestion takes us a week to implement for just one singe request, it is a week that we can't spend doing something else that we are sure that many users will benefit from. For example we know that many users (too many) are not making the best use of presets. This produces results that aren't as good as they could be.

We are planing to implement a new preset selection dialog with preview images and explanations of what they are used for. Then we have doublebyte support to complete, which fixes the issue accented and non-standard characters in filenames.

We also have some brand new features we will introduce, to benefit all users.

Soon we will start looking integrating the brand new render engine core.

So - *lots* to do

You know just yesterday i had a total epiphany., and I feel like a total noob for it now

I was browsing through podiums website, and apparently i have to do that more often!

""Intensity controls the brightness of areas that are exposed to sunlight. Exposure will control brightness of shaded areas.""  from Nicks exterior render tutorial.

I honestly had no idea that exposure..controls the brightness of shaded areas . I just totally missed that. I had misinterpreted the word exposure in that sense for so long. I always thought exposure meant, like an 'over exposed' photograph, as in burnt, over lit etcetera.  I thought that intensity was for that, like 'gosh the sun is intens today'

so if my shadowed areas were to dark...i moved the intensity slider up, and not the exposure slide, thinking that would light up those areas better

go ahead guys, have a laugh at my expense

Actually it would be good to post some 'before' and 'after' images so you could help other to avoid the same thing

For portrait images - resize your SU window and render to screen resolution

Panoramas are probably going to come, but without a huge dialog like this!

I would like the use of cameras!!! Many of the architects I work with constantly complain and/or comment about skewed walls, etc for interiors. honestly this should be a SKP fix not Podium... I try and use a field of view of 45-50 which reduce this problem and then tweak my model (move back and forth/stretch and pull) so that it the view looks good. This is something for all of us that is not a big deal. But from my experience people that are not exposed to this everyday, don't seem to understand or want to, they just want what they want. Send this to Google!

Have you tried using Google's new Advanced Camera Tools plugin?

This might do what you want.

We have been considering supporting this but don't know how popular this is. Although we won't be introducing advanced camera configuration into Podium, if enough people use this plugin it's something we might well support.
