I'm working on a project for a worried client who's concerned about reflections from a solar panel park nearby his house.
I thought this is a nice one for Prowalker, for animation of different sun settings. And in PR mode you can even see the suns reflection.

But now at the end of the project, i've noticed difference between sun location in SU and Prowalker.
This is the setting in SU: all set on the 21 of june, at 10:00.
(my location is NL, so the timezone should be UTC+1)
sunprojection-SU.jpgthe shadow is in the NW corner.
But this is the picture when I start Prowalker:

There seems to bee a difference of a few hours, even when I update the view in PW.
The file is geolocated in SketchUp:

When I change the time in SU and update the view in PRowalker, there's still a difference of a few hours.

What am I missing here?
Help is most appreciated..

Thanks.

Interesting! Presumably Podium renders it the same as shown in SU?

I think I know what the problem is... First I checked if I wasn't working in a stupendous large scale. I inserted a house from the Browser to check that. Because surveyors like to work in meters instead of millimeters.

no problem there, I would say..
But I seemed to me a scale problem, so I placed another compass card next to the other.

no problem in SketchUp, so what about ProWalker?

sun in PW.jpg
that is strange...But now it becomes clear that the sun in PW isn't endless far away.

If you zoom out even farther, then it becomes clear why.

the universe is not endless.jpg
And that explains the difference in shadow fall. So if you use large terrains and there out of the Origin point, then  you'll get unexpected results in Prowalker.
(so the universe is not endless [wink] )

That's actually really interesting - thanks a lot for tracking that down, it's useful to know!
