Hello,

Would it at all be possible for the gurus around here to put together a list of settings for different materials, reflection, bump etc... for interior and exterior so those of us using new scenarios can refer to a list to at least get an idea of what works for others.

Regards

Come on Paul, just buy the paid materials library

It's priced at student level (although no discount) and contains lots of preconfigured materials that you insert into your model and use the eyedropper tool with. Everything is transferred, including texture scale.

It's so much easier! We have another 27 materials to add in the next few days, and we'll be adding more stuff in the coming weeks.

[Edit: unashamed plug for the Podium Browser additional content here]

Already done that as soon as it was available.
They're great, but a few settings for what is not there would be great.
However whilst you presumed I had not acquired andPAID for the library, I would like to register my dismay at those people that do not upgrade to V2.# because they cannot afford it and complain about the price as miniscule as it is.
GET A REAL JOB !

thankyou

Tell us which one you would like. Will see if we can get them in there.

This is often only logic, settings are often identical for very different materials. It depends of the application. Let say painted steel and wood laminate for exemple: they will have both around 15% of blurred refection, can have the exact same color- you will differ them by the use you make.

With all the materials will have, I'm pretty sure you will be able to make any other from those settings.

In fact, if you tell us what sort of surfaces you want in there, If possible I'll make some for you. Can't say fairer than that

I tried to cover as many types as I thought would be required, but I may have missed something and if so I would appreciate it if you would let us know. There are also fully configured materials in the free section. I tried to put all the basic types there, so maybe I missed something.

Yes, the materials which are available are terrific, but I am needing to create or find many different ones to match what the clients (or the boss) want, and unfortunately the better the renderings get as I become more experienced the more humans want.

I will put together a simple list of what I am looking for and upload it to the forum.

Thanks for the offer.

Have you seen the latest ones added yesterday?

The idea is that you can also use the ones that are in the library as templates, and just change the texture.
