There's a rather large potential for speeding up rendering process with eliminating resampling of the textures. For example I'm rendering a bunch of trees, all with hidden edges (png branch texture) so in this scene there's 99% unnecessary resampling going on - 2 hours to be exact.

I know this is in your plans so can you give us any timeframe?

This is in effect the AA pass. It'a pain with grass and trees, and it's a huge amount of unnecessary processing time. Annoys me no end!

It's not on the immediate roadmap though I'm afraid. We have one programmer for core features like this and he already has a list of things to do that stretches almost to Christmas. Then we need to look at Podium V3.

You are effectively talking about per-material AA settings. Perfectly possible now, but I would think that it is something we would want for V3.

Is it too complicated to disable the AA in QMC presets, since we mostly render at x2 sizes with QMC so resizing acts like antialiasing?

No, it's easy - here you go.

Great idea - wish I had thought of it before!

I tried it, but it has prerendering that takes too long and images come out a bit too bright. I also tried modifing AA lines in 1.0 exterior QMC, but without much success. Could you modifiy it so it has little or no AA? Thanks!

Prerendering can't be removed. I have frther reduced AA quality though.

Try this.

Is it possible to reduce/remove AA from 1.0 exterior QMC since that's the one that works the best for me?

Yes of course, but please test to see if this works for you first.

Altering the other one to find out that it's still much too slow because you haven't tested the second version I posted will just waste my time

Well, that's the problem, I'm testing it now and @ 852x480 it looks a bit sluggish.

If changing a few lines and parameters is a waste of time, what do you call 3 hrs of pointless AA? A time well spent? Hell, that's 0.3 kWh of energy wasted at least. You won't get a LEED certificate this way for sure.

Well, there is no point in me modifying another preset for the tonemapping or whatever if the AA wasn't successful.

I have attached the modified preset base on 1.0 exterior QMC.

This is as little AA as I can configure.
