I know I’ve mentioned this before and am aware that instancing has been noted but is not necessarily a priority right now. At my office we have Thea. I took a sampling of trees that I have made (and are available in the browser), instanced them, planted 40,000 of them on rolling terrain, And then rendered.

Wow.

The model was nothing but bounding boxes of the trees to ensure minimum Poly count. If Podium had this capability I’d never use 2d trees again. Well maybe just a few, I usually have many in my models.

The one thing I want to express is that I’m committed to Podium. I like the simplicity. I love the results. Tech support is top notch. ( Thea... not so much) If instancing is something you are at all seriously thinking about moving forward in development, I’m behind you all the way.

Agree.
Would be great to have instancing/proxies feature on roadmap. Kindly consider.

Instancing is one of the key features planned for Podium 3. Of course for landscaping in particular it’s difficult to use without proxies.
Instancing is straightforward, but proxies will take some thought.

They won’t be difficult to implement, we’ll just need a bit of thought first.

Nice. I think it will have quite an impact on what I will be able to produce.

Actually it has been on the roadmap for a long time, but other things have overtaken it in the priority list.

One of the biggest issues which has caused such a lot of aggravation is the new licensing system.

That has taken up an inordinate amount of time, as has moving away from opening an internal network socket for the Render Manager.

Thanks for considering user feedback.

It shall be a great help in any project where any detail /furniture/accessories/floors elevation etc are repeated many times.

A multistorey building with detailed modelling , any office hall with many chairs +tables+accessories+window elements , auditorium, large cafe, landscaping projects, bird's eye view exploded isometric plans of large projects etc. etc. ....these are some of the cases which shall be easier to work with in my fav software.
